Art is a creative and evolving subject delivered in purpose built Art rooms to all Key stage 3 and GCSE Art groups. We have fantastic ICT facilities including 7 PC’s, 6 iMacs and 15 iPads which support and enhance the pupils learning experience. Homework is set on a fortnightly basis to broaden pupil’s knowledge, skills and understanding of the artists explored.

The department are passionate about Art and encouraging pupils to reach their full potential in this subject. Entering local, national and international competitions is encouraged. We have been successful in a number of competitions to which one led to a cup being designed and made for the Queen.

In Key Stage 3 pupils study Art for one lesson a week, and across the key stage cover a range of skills and traditional and contemporary artists including:

  • Drawing
  • Print making
  • 3D
  • Painting
  • Mixed media
  • Ceramics
  • Artists:
  • Seurat
  • Picasso
  • Jennifer Collier
  • Priscilla Jones
  • Scarpace

The Autumn term is a themed term where the whole key stage work towards a common theme with different outcomes.

At Key Stage 4 we offer GCSE Art and Design where pupils explore Fine Art, photography and 3D.
