Today, we have had the pleasure of DS Simon Street from Staffordshire Police, Sam Walton, the Sales Operations Manager from IntaForensics, Susan Arnold the Deputy Police & Crime Commissioner, and Tom Nadin from the Chamber of Commerce to talk to our students on Cyber Security.
Fifty students from Year 9 & 10 learned about the dangers of sexting, chat rooms, the dark web, hidden web cams and listening devices.
They were shown examples of cameras and listening devices in pens, Key fobs, highlighter pens, smart TV’s, as well as a car key fob doubling up as a mobile phone, which regularly get smuggled into prisons.
All our students said that they now know a lot more about online safety and will be checking their safety settings on their various devices.
Our E-Safety section of our website contains lots of information about staying safe on the internet and using social media. You will find downloadable leaflets detailing how to check security settings and information videos on setting up parental controls on your home broadband.
