Five of our Year 9 students recently had the privilege to visit Oxford University, where they had a short tour followed by a talk, detailing the courses they offer, admission criteria, tuition fees and a short true or false quiz.
The students were then treated to a fabulous lunch followed by a more detailed tour around the campus escorted by current Oxford University students.
The day ended in subject taster lessons, which were delivered by the Oxford University students. They were introduced to Egyptology, Economics and History.
Student Kelsey Smith said,
“This trip allowed me to expand on my choices of university as I had never considered Oxford before. I found the tours beneficial and I enjoyed the taster sessions at the end of the day“.
Josh Price added,
“I enjoyed today as it gave me a better understanding of the subjects I would like to take when I get to university. The things I liked the most were the university students, as they were really down to earth and explained things in detail“.
