At last, British Summer Time is here! Typically, the weather is terrible but let’s keep our fingers crossed that it soon improves. The Easter holidays are upon us and I hope you are able to spend some quality time with your family and friends.
OSSMA has again had a great term and I can say we are truly living up to our vision of being “an academy that never sleeps.” We are open until 10.00pm every night and the community facilities are being used every weekend. Please remember that the academy is a community facility and should you wish to access its use we will be only too pleased to help.
The ‘Annie’ production was amazing and I am so proud of all the students who took part and also of the staff who gave up so many hours after school and at weekends to make it a memorable week of performances. In particular, Angie Fleming did an amazing job of directing and producing the show and she was ably supported by Wayne Trevor who ensured that the sound and lighting was first class.
I am also pleased to report that the Sunday League Football team, OSSMA Joker, run by Terry Thorley, are running away with the league and also in two semi-final cup competitions. Well done indeed!
As you are probably aware, we are growing fast as an academy and are currently employing an extra 10 new teachers for September to keep up with the increased popularity of our academy. This is excellent news because the quality of our appointments is superb and will ensure that all of our students benefit from high quality teaching.
Happy Easter and please take a moment to reflect on its true meaning.
