Teacher Lynn Jones will receive an MBE, for her services to education, which have spanned 41 years.
Lynn spent 36 years working at Blurton High School and then continued to work when it became the Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Academy, where she is now vice-principal.
Mark Stanyer, principal of OSSMA, said: “Lynn has done wonderful things with generations of young people. She is very dedicated and has championed educational visits the students wouldn’t normally experience.
“She is a credit to the school and the community. She has spent 41 years as a teacher which is an amazing achievement. She thoroughly deserves this honour.”
Lynn Jones said, “It has been a total privilege to work with the children of Blurton and Fenton for all these years as they are all amazing”.
