On Friday 24th January, the Year 10 “Lunch Club: Culture,” celebrated Burns Night early with their very own haggis tasting!
The group had already learned about Scotland’s favourite Bard during their Literacy Form time reading focus and were keen to develop their cultural experience.
Staff and pupils listened to a recital of Burns’ famous poem: ‘Address to a Haggis’ and then sampled the dish themselves.
It received mixed reviews!
‘The Complete Illustrated Poems, Songs and ballads of Robert Burns’ was Book of the Week to coincide with Burns Night celebrated annually on 25th January.
