University Life!

Posted on: November 27, 2017

On Friday 10th November 2017, 25 Year 7 students visited Oxford University.

The visit was designed to broaden students’ horizons and expose them to the wonderful academic opportunities available to them. The students visited University College and took part in a talk delivered by former students and admissions tutors that focused on the university experience and possible academic degrees students could study at Oxford University. They were given a tour of the wonderful awe-inspiring grounds of the college and were given an insight into on-campus living.

Students visited the Bodleian Library, which is the main research library of the University of Oxford and is one of the oldest libraries in Europe with over 12 million books. They also visited the Museum of Natural History where students handled million year old fossils, stuffed animals and the odd creepy crawly!

The students were fabulous during the day and their enthusiasm shone through, particularly during the Q and A session where their endless questions and curiosity impressed the university staff. The trip inspired many of our students and informed them of the options available to them if they work hard and aim big!
