It has been a busy first week back after the half-term holidays and staff have been receiving training on how to deliver live, online lessons using Google Meet. A number of staff observed a Y10 Science lesson successfully delivered by Mr Taylor and we hope to increase the number of live lessons that we deliver over the coming weeks to try and keep everyone engaged. The OAT (Ormiston Academies Trust) Virtual Sports Cup has now begun. This is an opportunity for students and staff to perform a series of physical challenges. Further details can be found here https://bit.ly/2Mwh53j
Miss Wainwright is also busily organising another challenge for departments to work on after the success of the Lip-Sync competition. This will be another opportunity for the community to vote on the various efforts of departments across the academy.
Thank you to all Year 10 parents who completed the online survey regarding Year 10 students returning to the academy from Monday 15th June. On Monday next week we will be contacting those parents who expressed a wish for their child to return to the academy. Our main priority during these difficult circumstances is to ensure the health & safety of our students and staff at all times whilst in the academy. We have put together a short video below, showing the current measures that we taking to protect everyone who attends the academy.
Years 7, 8 & 9 will not be returning to the academy until at least September. Government guidelines may change during this course, but we will always take every precaution to ensure the safety of all students and staff.
Have a great weekend,
Mr Nick Brennan
Head of School
